PALŪŠĖ BOAT HOUSE
The Palūšė Boat House is one of the oldest and probably one of the largest boat houses in Lithuania, founded in 1959. Here visitors enjoy a wide array of water activities and services: we rent boats, kayaks, canoes, and other equipment; we transport travellers with their gear to the chosen routes; and we provide travel information, maps and other necessary services. The boat house is near a large parking lot and close to the Aukštaitija National Park management office and a computerized visitor centre. And if you walk 300 meters along the street, you’ll find a small shop where you can buy the most essential goods.
If you want just to spend half a day on water, we’ll offer you rowing boats - you can leave the Palūšė Boat House, cross a few lakes and return on the same day. But if you plan to spend more time in the wild, we offer one-day, two-day and even longer routes.
Palūšė Boat House is open daily from 08:00 to 20:00 (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).

Along with our boats, kayaks and canoes we provide safety equipment. Route maps are free. If necessary, we can lend a cooking pot, an axe and some other useful things. Transportation cost is on average 1 - 2 Lt / km (depending on the equipment and the number of passengers). We also rent tents.
We recommend to plan your visit in advance to make it easier for you and ensure a smooth trip. Tell us the route you want to go (or ask us for suggestions), equipment you would like, the time you’re planning to come, and the number of people you expect. We can agree on the route and other details by e-mail and answer any questions you might have.
We advise you to travel on weekdays, not on weekends. If you plan your trip on week days, you’ll avoid many of the weekend tourists to guarantee you’ll get more peace and tranquility.

HOW TO REACH US
Palūšė Boat House is at the Aukštaitija National Park, Palūšė village, 4 km away from the town of Ignalina. You can come to Ignalina from Vilnius (110 km) by train or by bus. A bus from Kaunas (170 km) will take you straight to the Palūšė village. From Ignalina you can come to Palūšė on foot (there’s a walkway on the left side of the road) or by taxi. Tell us in advance, and we’ll come to pick you up.
